Like everyone during this time, we at Created Gainesville are experiencing the deep implications associated with COVID-19. We know that so much around us is coming to a pause, but that sex trafficking and sexual exploitation is continuing - even thriving - in many ways. Vulnerabilities for the women we serve have spiked dramatically in recent weeks, including the loss of employment, reduction in public transportation to get safely to appointments and work, and the temporary cease of community gatherings.
In spite of all of this, we continue to walk out our mission of reaching and restoring lives impacted by sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Women are being advocated for, receiving opportunities for healing and restoration, obtaining safe housing, and being brought into community. With the blessing of technology, we've seen the women we serve embrace new methods of staying connected with our team and each other. We are so grateful that amidst the obstacles many women in our program have faced so far, there is a sense of gratitude, authenticity, and a longing to be part of something so much bigger than their current circumstances.
Thank you for considering how you can join us in keeping these opportunities available for women in our community!
