In partnership with a local creator from Piesabilities, we present to you a candle uniquely crafted for Created Gainesville. As we prepare to open our very first home that will welcome survivors of sex trafficking & sexual exploitation, we wanted to create an opportunity for our supporters to lean in a litter closer. Scents impact us in ways that go beyond just a surface level smell, rather they mark specific feelings and experiences that our mind holds onto. Our senses are completely intertwined with the way we experience and interact with the world around us. So, we want to use this candle as an element of redemption in survivors' lives. Where women once maybe associated the smell of home with smoke, unclean clothes, and stale will now be replaced with the comforting scents of cactus flower and jade. We hope that as you burn this candle, you will be reminded of your own memories of when you first felt safe in your home, and that you are now a part of making that happen for survivors of sex trafficking & sexual exploitation. |
